In regards to cost and group size – our costume tour is 2 hours long and cost is $15.50 per student.
As you have students at various stage levels we can combine the information given on our arrival of the First Fleet to include our History and Heritage tour information as well. Examples of some of the content that is covered is –
Who came on the First Fleet
The first contact between the Cadigal people and the British
The Aboriginal way of life before and after colonisation
What was a convict?
British Colonisation of Australia and the impact on the indigenous Cadigal people
The way of life in nineteenth century Sydney
Significant People and Sites (existing and demolished)
Rats – Resumption – Restoration
The outbreak of bubonic plague and its effects on the community in 1900
Why was The Rocks restored?
What was it like in the late 1800s early 1900s! – The Rocks was considered to be a working class area or a slum.
The way of life of working class families
The students are dressed up as the governor, soldiers, free settlers and convicts and given character cards of people that lived in the colony.
The rocks history tour walk- i have been told the history program will include S1, S2 & S3. Minimum 20 students. Maximum in the group is 30.
Dress up included. 2 hour program. (Maximum includes children & Adults). Adults at children’s rate. No prams as there are places in the tour that are not pram friendly.
I have been advised that it is for School aged children only, so they can get the most out of this educational tour.
