In this workshop students learn how to create dynamic spaces for live performance and theatre to build spaces of imagination for an audience.
Make a world for theatrical storytelling
In this fun and engaging workshop inspired by A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, students have the opportunity to learn from Isabel Hudson, a set and costume designer to create their own miniature worlds. Step into the captivating world of theatrical design and scenography to learn unique approaches that take ideas from the page to the stage.
In this workshop students will:
- Explore real-world examples to learn how a designer approaches the creative process.
- Develop ideas and sketches to build students’ skills in stage and set design.
- Create small scale models and prototypes for sets, props, characters and stages.
- Consider how different challenges and parameters that develop their design choices to enhance or bring alive the script or how an audience interprets a performance.
The workshop duration is 90 minutes.

PLEASE NOTE that parents can attend this workshop in a non-participating capacity. Parents will be able to sit in the back of the Creative Learning Space. Parents need to also purchase a ticket (even though free) at the time of booking.
