Welcome to the Sydney Home Education Network (SHEN). SHEN is a non-profit support group for home educators in the Sydney and greater Sydney region. The aim of this website is to facilitate communication and interaction amongst home educators in the Sydney and surrounding areas, including Wollongong, the Blue Mountains and the Northern Beaches. The primary aim of the SHEN website is to raise awareness of educational events that have been organised by members that benefit the home educating community.
The SHEN committee organises many events including:
- Monthly events at Regents Park. Events are also organised in other geographical areas on an ad hoc basis.
- Tickets for performances run by the House:Ed department of the Sydney Opera House at school rates.
- Traditional swimming and athletics carnivals
- Workshops during Science Week at the Australian Museum (Science in the City)
- Tickets to performances by the Sydney Symphony School Concerts
