The excursion is in two parts beginning in the Rocks and finishing in the afternoon at the Chinese Garden.
Groundwork: Archaeology at The Big Dig – Students will use written and archaeological sources to undertake an investigation into the lives of some of the people who lived and worked in The Rocks in the 1800s.
Silk Road to Gold Tracks – At the Chinese Gardens at Darling Harbour. We’ll examine the history of Chinese immigration to Australia, track migration routes and observe how these past and present communities have shaped modern multiculturalism.
