Our Speaking Circle is now underway, and we are welcoming new children to join us from our next meeting on Thursday 6th August.
Speaking Circle is inspired by the Toastmasters approach and provides a supportive environment where children develop confidence in public speaking by speaking regularly, listening actively and giving constructive feedback.
Each meeting includes:
• Prepared speeches
• Impromptu speaking (“thinking on your feet”)
• Short meeting roles that develop listening and observation skills
• Constructive speech evaluations
• A friendly atmosphere where children are encouraged to participate at their own pace
Speaking Circle is suitable for children and teens who would like to become more confident communicators. New speakers are very welcome, and no previous public speaking experience is needed.
Public speaking is one of the few activities where age is not a reliable measure of ability. Children and teens of different ages can inspire, challenge and learn from one another. I would particularly love to see more homeschooled teens join the group.

If your child enjoys sharing ideas, telling stories, thinking on their feet, or simply wants to become a more confident speaker, I’d love to hear from you. Please send me a message with your child’s age if you’d like more information or to reserve a place.
