Parent Helpers – Without You There Is No Event!
Our Athletics Carnival won’t happen without our incredible parent helpers! If you love being part of a high-energy day filled with races, jumps, and fun, we need YOU to help make it happen. Check out the roles where you can get involved:
Registration Superstars – Be the welcoming face greeting families, checking in athletes, and getting everyone pumped for the day ahead!
Age Managers – The Ultimate Team Leaders! – Keep your age group on track and in the game, coordinate helpers, record results, and be their biggest supporter!
Age Group Helpers – The Event Playmakers! – Get hands-on with the action:
- Help retrieve shot put and discus like a pro.
- Get athletes lined up and race-ready.
- Rake the long jump pit (because a smooth landing makes all the difference!).
- Keep the competition moving by getting the next athlete prepped for their turn.
No special skills or experience needed—just energy, enthusiasm, and a love for community fun! Support and guidance will be provided, so you’ll never be on your own. Whether you can help for an hour or the whole day, we need you to make this carnival a success!

Find Your Region – Where Do You Belong?
Sydney is a vast and diverse city, and for our Athletics Carnival, we’ve divided it into six unique regions, each represented by a different colour:
Northern Suburbs
Eastern and Inner Sydney
South East Sydney
South West Sydney
Western Sydney
Outer Western Sydney and Beyond
Each region proudly represents a house team, and athletes will be wearing tops in their region’s colour to showcase their team and local community spirit! Whether you’re racing down the track or competing in field events, your house colour will unite you with your team, bringing energy and excitement to every moment of the carnival.
Find your region on the map below and mark where you belong

If you’re unsure, choose the one closest to where you live or feel most connected to. Let’s see which region brings the most carnival spirit!
Seating and Accessibility:
General seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The seating area is fully sheltered, providing protection from sun and rain so you can enjoy the event in comfort.
The venue is equipped with ramps, accessible restrooms, and wheelchair-friendly areas with unobstructed views of all track and field events.
Food and Refreshments:
Attendees are welcome to bring their own food (BYO), and a healthy food and coffee truck will be available onsite, offering fresh, nutritious options. A free water station is located by the grandstand to keep everyone hydrated.
For additional food choices, Bass Hill Plaza, approximately 1.6 km away, offers a variety of eateries and shops.
Rules & Guidelines – Let’s Keep the Fun Going!
Our Athletics Carnival is all about excitement, teamwork, and friendly competition! To keep the energy high and ensure everyone has a fantastic time, please follow these simple guidelines:
Be a Good Sport – Cheer loud, encourage others, and celebrate every effort—whether you’re competing or supporting from the sidelines!
Parent & Guardian Attendance – All parents and guardians are required to remain at the venue with their children at all times. This ensures a safe and supervised environment for every athlete throughout the carnival.
Stick Together – Parents and guardians, please accompany younger children as they explore the event—yes, that includes trips to the toilets!
Hydration & Safety First – Stay cool with plenty of water (available by the grandstand), apply sunscreen, and first aid will be onsite if needed.
Footwear Matters – Athletes must wear appropriate sports shoes, including running spikes where permitted. Open-toe shoes are not allowed for competitors to ensure safety. Spectators should wear comfortable footwear for walking around the venue.
Respect the Space – Keep our venue clean and safe by disposing of rubbish properly and following staff directions.
Rain or Shine – The carnival will go ahead regardless of the weather, so come prepared! Be sure to read the Wet Weather Contingency details for more information.
Capture the Memories – Snap photos and share the fun, but professional filming and drones require prior approval.
No Party Crashers – Alcohol, smoking, and prohibited items are not allowed. Keep the carnival family-friendly and full of positivity!
Let’s make it a safe, fun, and unforgettable carnival experience for everyone!
Weather Contingency:
The Athletics Carnival will run in light rain, so be sure to bring appropriate clothing to stay comfortable! The track is synthetic, meaning it provides a consistent surface with excellent traction and drainage—unlike grass, which can become muddy and slippery in wet conditions. This ensures a safe and reliable surface for all events, rain or shine.
In the case of extreme weather—such as thunderstorms or unsafe conditions—updates will be communicated promptly via our official channels. No matter the forecast, the excitement will be full speed ahead!
