DESCRIPTION:Senior Workshop- Introduction to Shakespeare \n1pm-3pm \nAges 12-15 \nGive your students an active\, immersive experience of Shakespeare’s plays with Bell Shakespeare’s Introduction to Shakespeare workshop. Our teaching artists guide students through a practical\, English/Drama blended exploration of some of Shakespeare’s greatest characters from a number of plays. Over two hours\, teaching artists will activate language analysis\, themes\, key discussion points\, scene work and character analysis\, with the whole class on their feet. Introduction to Shakespeare is a playful and powerful approach for students to ensure deep learning and meaningful engagement with the text. \nTexts included in workshop: A Midsummer Night’s Dream\, Henry V\, Hamlet\, Romeo and Juliet\, Macbeth \n \nThis workshop has been kindly subsidised by Bell Shakespeare \nMaximum number of participants – 30 \n \nWorkshop will be held at Bell Shakespeare premises – Pier 2/3\, Walsh Bay Arts Precinct\, Hickson Road\, Dawes Point (in between The Rocks and Barangaroo) \nPlease note: an accompanying adult and younger (non-participating) siblings are permitted to attend as audience but need to be quiet.  If you want a chat then there are tables and chairs outside the workshop room or outside the pier with beautiful views of the Harbour and lots of restaurants/cafes.

Bell Shakespeare’s Magic and Mayhem Primary workshop is designed to immerse students in Shakespeare through playful and interactive storytelling. Our teaching artists will take young students on a two-hour narrative journey through some of Shakespeare’s magical array of characters\, from a number of plays. Students will learn about character\, language techniques\, and expanding vocabulary. We’ll intersperse creative and critical thinking activities throughout so you can continue to explore Shakespeare long after we’ve gone.
