Whether you’re racing down the track or competing in field events\, your house colour will unite you with your team\, bringing energy and excitement to every moment of the carnival. \n Find your region on the map below and mark where you belong \n \nIf you’re unsure\, choose the one closest to where you live or feel most connected to. Let’s see which region brings the most carnival spirit! \n \n \n \nSeating and Accessibility: \n \nGeneral seating is available on a first-come\, first-served basis. The seating area is fully sheltered\, providing protection from sun and rain so you can enjoy the event in comfort. \nThe venue is equipped with ramps\, accessible restrooms\, and wheelchair-friendly areas with unobstructed views of all track and field events. \n \n \nFood and Refreshments: \n \n \nAttendees are welcome to bring their own food (BYO)\, and a healthy food and coffee truck will be available onsite\, offering fresh\, nutritious options. A free water station is located by the grandstand to keep everyone hydrated. \nFor additional food choices\, Bass Hill Plaza\, approximately 1.6 km away\, offers a variety of eateries and shops. \n \n \n \n \n \nRules & Guidelines – Let’s Keep the Fun Going! \nOur Athletics Carnival is all about excitement\, teamwork\, and friendly competition! To keep the energy high and ensure everyone has a fantastic time\, please follow these simple guidelines: \n Be a Good Sport – Cheer loud\, encourage others\, and celebrate every effort—whether you’re competing or supporting from the sidelines! \n Parent & Guardian Attendance – All parents and guardians are required to remain at the venue with their children at all times. This ensures a safe and supervised environment for every athlete throughout the carnival. \n Stick Together – Parents and guardians\, please accompany younger children as they explore the event—yes\, that includes trips to the toilets! \n Hydration & Safety First – Stay cool with plenty of water (available by the grandstand)\, apply sunscreen\, and first aid will be onsite if needed. \n Footwear Matters – Athletes must wear appropriate sports shoes\, including running spikes where permitted. Open-toe shoes are not allowed for competitors to ensure safety. Spectators should wear comfortable footwear for walking around the venue. \n Respect the Space – Keep our venue clean and safe by disposing of rubbish properly and following staff directions. \n Rain or Shine – The carnival will go ahead regardless of the weather\, so come prepared! Be sure to read the Wet Weather Contingency details for more information. \n Capture the Memories – Snap photos and share the fun\, but professional filming and drones require prior approval. \n No Party Crashers – Alcohol\, smoking\, and prohibited items are not allowed. Keep the carnival family-friendly and full of positivity! \nLet’s make it a safe\, fun\, and unforgettable carnival experience for everyone! \n \n \nWeather Contingency: \n \nThe Athletics Carnival will run in light rain\, so be sure to bring appropriate clothing to stay comfortable! The track is synthetic\, meaning it provides a consistent surface with excellent traction and drainage—unlike grass\, which can become muddy and slippery in wet conditions. This ensures a safe and reliable surface for all events\, rain or shine. \nIn the case of extreme weather—such as thunderstorms or unsafe conditions—updates will be communicated promptly via our official channels. No matter the forecast\, the excitement will be full speed ahead! \n  \n \nEvent Schedule: \nDownloadable schedule \n \nInsurance: \n \n Spectator Contact Details \nWe understand that the current form may feel repetitive\, and we’re actively working on updating the website to improve your experience. SUMMARY:Sydney Dance Company performance of 'Continuum' - 28th October\, 2025 @12pm - recommended age 8yrs-12yrs
DESCRIPTION:Continuum is a bold exploration of the ever-shifting cadence that binds us to the world\, inspired by the constant flow of movement and transformation that mirrors the evolving nature of life. \nThrough the visionary perspectives of choreographers Rafael Bonachela\, Tra Mi Dinh and Stephen Page AO\, this triple bill offers three unique reflections on humanity\, light and our place in the cycle of existence. \nContinuum sweeps across a spectrum of lived experience\, from the fleeting beauty of twilight to the elemental force of breath. It is a journey through time and place\, where movement echoes with the ebb and flow of life’s narratives. A celebration of the continuous journey of transformation and the subtle forces of nature that connect us all. \nAn enchanting world premiere from Rafael Bonachela will draw upon his signature choreographic style\, to explore the limits of emotional and physical expression. To conjure a dynamic sorcery between the quiet and the monumental\, the intimate to the expansive. \nIn Somewhere Between Ten and Fourteen\, Tra Mi Dinh exposes the delicate space between day and night. A fleeting moment of transition where bodies drift and pulse\, surrendering to the ever-shifting movement of time and light. An ode to change that captures the transience of life’s continual shifts. \nFor the first time\, Unungkati Yantatja – one with the other\, brings together the powerful creative forces of Stephen Page with esteemed composer and leading Yidaki player William Barton. Page’s choreography embodies Barton’s song line\, calling out to land\, sea\, sky\, and creature\, whilst carefully connecting us all to the spirit of our creation breath. Barton will be joined live in performance by the award-wining Omega Ensemble\, who commissioned the underlying powerful score. Blown gently across the stage\, Unungkati Yantatja is a dedication to the force of our earthly breaths\, intrinsically connecting us to country\, to each other\, and the continual rhythm of life. \nPerformance duration: 60 minutes.  \nYOU MUST BE A SHEN MEMBER TO BOOK TICKETS.  PLEASE ONLY BOOK FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY. \nTicket sales will end on the 12th August\, unless sold out beforehand. \nPlease ensure you choose the correct ticket option when you are paying.  People choosing Companion Card ticket must email a copy of the Companion Card to SHEN immediately after booking ticket(s).
