Metropolitan Orchestra Family Concerts

Please book directly via the link below…

At The Metropolitan Orchestra they share your passion for early childhood music education.

These interactive concerts allow the whole family to get up close to a FULL ORCHESTRA in a kid-friendly environment.  Performed by The Metropolitan Orchestra and designed by Sydney Opera House Babies Proms Musical Director Sarah-Grace Williams, these concerts allow children to sit at arm’s length from the orchestra where they can see, hear and interact directly with the musicians.   Tickets are a low $15 and babies are free!

CONCERT 1 : Animal Adventures

Hear birds singing, lions roaring, elephants stomping and even an unhappy Aardvark, all played by the orchestra! With excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, Bach’s Sheep May Safely Graze and more, there’s something for all family members in this fun concert that will ignite little imaginations as they explore the orchestra in a kid-friendly environment.

11am & 1pm Saturday 27th May

11am & 1pm Sunday 28th May

CONCERT 2: Movies, Dreams and Adventures

How do you make an epic family concert?  Take a full symphony orchestra, add some of the greatest film music of all time from movies such as Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Trek, Batman, ET, Star Wars, Apollo 13 and The Mission, then add two world premiere compositions by Australian composers Yusaku Abiko and Adrian Hallam – That’s how! Come dressed as your favourite movie character and join the fun in this action-packed concert!

11am & 1:30pm Saturday 5th August

CONCERT 3: Peter and the Wolf

After sell-out concerts in 2014 and 2015, TMO is bringing back the family favourite Peter and the Wolf once again!
